Tankerne vandrer

As I posted on 23 October, I was at knitting group meeting and it was soo cozy! I was ten minutes late, because I couldn’t log off Ravelry . In the beginning I was a bit (a lot!) shy, because I was the only guy present and everybody was staring at me, but after few minutes I relaxed and took my shawl project out of my bag and started knitting. There were about 15 girls, from very experienced to beginners and everybody was warmly welcomed by the owner of the yarn shop, Lisbeth. 

On this meeting I met other ravleres too. There were two girls from the Ravelry community and it was nice to sit there with our knits and praise Ravelry.com . 

I personally did a lot of knitting and the time flew away. The next meeting is on 13 November and I will certainly come again!

I am going to a knitting group meeting tonight at Bette Design in Copenhagen. I have been participating in knitting groups before (my school group), but it is my first time when I will sit and knit with people I don’t know. It is a bit weird, because I don’t know how the girls will accept me (probably, I will be the only man there ). Anyway, I am going now and I’ll update after the meeting.

Last week my teacher in American culture and society told us that we are lucky, because we go through the financial crisis, which has fallen over the entire world.  I thought about that. And yes, I feel lucky. Not only because I have no money invested in shares, but also because I am experiencing something that will go in the history. 

I have never been impressed by the financial sector although I had this matter in school and know the mechanisms of finance. It is a dirty game that contains no humanity. The lives of millions of people are at risk when the Wall Street guys play their gambits. And not only in the US, but in the entire world. Because we, people, are like a herd of sheep – we do what others do. We follow “the Big Brother” regardless of he is right or not. Think that few people are ruling the world economy. It is scary to think.

I don’t feel sorry for those who lost their money because they were greedy. I don’t feel sorry for those who didn’t think before they act. I feel sorry for the poor, for the millions of people whose lives are destroyed, because banks and credit institutions were piggish and inhumane. I feel sorry for Joe the Plummer, because he will also be fooled.

I am a lucky boy! Not because the financial crisis is present, but because I feel happy!
